Public notice for one fixed-term work contract for Project, Event and Community Manager
ELIXIR-CONVERGE - Connect and align ELIXIR Nodes to deliver sustainable FAIR life-science data management services/INFRADEV-03-2019/Ref: 871075, funded by Horizon 2020
At the meeting held on January 9, 2023, the Executive Board of INESC-ID – Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores INESC-ID made the decision to open an international selection call for one fixed-term work contract in the scope of the project ELIXIR-CONVERGE - Connect and align ELIXIR Nodes to deliver sustainable FAIR life-science data management services/INFRADEV-03-2019/Ref: 871075, funded by Horizon 2020 under the following conditions:
1. OBJECTIVES
- Support for project management in the context of INESC-ID/BioData.pt association.
- Prepare technical and financial progress reports for projects, ensuring timely execution of all deliverables.
- Collect and report regularly project performance and impact indicators.
- Ensure contact between partners for efficient project development.
- Manage distribution and communication lists, Slack channels, among others related to projects.
- Identify and develop content for disseminating the results of the projects, interacting with the Association's partners for dissemination.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and regular teleconferences of the ELIXIR infrastructure.
- Plan, organize, publicize and execute events and workshops associated with the projects.
- Support the BioData.pt association in other activities within the framework of the position it occupies.
2. DURATION
6 months, starting in February 2023. Renewal is subject to suitable performance.
3. APPLICABLE LAW
“Código do Trabalho” (Labor Code), approved by Law No. 7/2009, of February 12, in its current wording.
4. MONTHLY AMOUNT AND WORKPLACE
The Employee is entitled, prior to any deductions or withholdings, to a monthly payment of 1 589.68 € (One thousand, five hundred and eighty-nine euros and sixty-eight cents), working on an exclusive dedication basis, and a meal allowance per workday of 5.20€ (Five euros and twenty cents)
The monthly pay, meal allowance, vacation and Christmas shall be paid by bank transfer.
The workplace shall be at INESC-ID Headquarters Rua Alves Redol, 9, 1000-029 Lisboa or at any other facilities namely in INESC-ID Energia IST - Departamento de Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores, Área de Energia, Av. Rovisco Pais 1049-001 Lisboa or in INESC-ID - Taguspark Avenida Professor Cavaco Silva, Edifício IST 2744-016 Porto Salvo, in accordance with the requirements and needs of the project.
5. SCIENTIFIC SUPERVISION
The contract activity will be supervised by Professor Ana Teresa Correia de Freitas, Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and researcher at INESC-ID.
The employee will be integrated into the INESC-ID team.
6. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS - Required education level and research experience
The candidates should have a MSc degree in Biology, Healthcare, BioInformatics or related areas, with a strong background in Event and Community Management.
Required language skills: proficiency in English (minimum C1) both written and spoken.
Availability to travel in the country and abroad.
7. EVALUATION CRITERIA AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS
The selection will be based on the following criteria:
- 60% academic record
- 20% motivation letter
- 10% feedback from the personal references
- 10% English level
If an interview is conducted, the punctuation proposed by each member of the jury is obtained by assigning a weighting factor of 80% to the curriculum vitae and other documentation presented, and a weighting factor of 20% to the interview
The jury may also decide not to assign the position if none of the candidates meets the required conditions.
Candidates with an average score below 70, are not recommended for hiring.

Each member of the jury assigns a classification to each of the candidates on a scale of 0 to 100 points, ranking the candidates according to their classification consisting of the sum of the partial classifications assigned in each evaluation criterion, and considering the weighting factor given to each parameter. In this process, abstentions are not allowed.
Candidates shall be ordered by applying the successive voting method.
The jury has the faculty not to select a candidate in case the requirements mentioned above mentioned are not fulfilled.
Minutes of the jury meeting are drawn up, which contain a summary of what has taken place in the meeting, as well as the votes cast by each of the members and their reasons, being available to the candidates whenever requested.
The final deliberation of the jury is approved by the President of INESC-ID, and it is his responsibility to establish the respective contract.
